Carpenter

We are seeking a skilled and passionate Carpenter to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in carpentry, a good work ethic, willingness to learn, and an interest in sustainability and green building practices. As a Carpenter, you will play a crucial role in constructing high-quality, environmentally responsible homes and projects that reflect our company's values and commitment to design, integrity and The Pretty Good House mindset.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform all aspects of carpentry work, including framing, finishing, and installation.

  • Supporting the leadership team and lead carpenters with jobsite responsibilities and scheduling requirements.

  • Ensure that construction activities comply with relevant sustainability standards, codes, and certifications.

  • Participate in site assessments and contribute to the development of sustainable building plans and strategies.

  • Stay updated on emerging trends and best practices in construction and sustainable construction and incorporate new techniques and technologies into projects.

  • Maintain a safe and organized work environment, adhering to all safety regulations and protocols.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience as a carpenter, with a minimum of [4] years of relevant work experience in residential construction.

  • Strong knowledge of or willingness to learn sustainable building practices, materials, and techniques.

  • Proficiency in using a variety of hand and power tools commonly used in carpentry work.

  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.

  • Attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality work.

  • Effective communication skills, with the ability to collaborate with colleagues, clients, and subcontractors.

  • Physical stamina and the ability to perform tasks requiring lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.

  • A reliable, construction-appropriate transportation; and a Maine Driver’s License in good standing.

  • Being a good fit with our existing crew is critical.
